The Tooth Factory was founded in 2019 with a simple goal: to make high-quality dental education more accessible, practical, organized, and easier to understand.
What began as an educational initiative has grown into a platform for free dental lectures, personalized coaching, international dentist guidance, oral health education, books, community outreach, and future dental innovation.
Why We Built The Tooth Factory
Dental education can be overwhelming. Students often have access to textbooks, lectures, notes, examination resources, and countless online sources, yet still struggle to connect all of that information into something practical and clinically meaningful.
We experienced that journey ourselves through dental education in India and North America, licensing examinations, applications, advanced dental training, and clinical practice.
The Tooth Factory was created to make that journey easier for the next generation of dentists.
Our goal is not simply to provide more information. We want dental knowledge to be easier to understand, organize, remember, and apply — while providing personalized support for students and dentists who need additional guidance.
The People Behind The Tooth Factory
Kanan Shah BDS, DDS
Co-Founder • Dentist • Educator
Dr. Kanan Shah completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in India and later earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in New York.
She currently practices dentistry in Rochester, Minnesota, bringing together international and North American dental education and clinical experience.
Her work within The Tooth Factory focuses on dental education, professional development, oral health promotion, community education, and helping learners connect academic knowledge with clinical dentistry.
Rishi Shah BDS, DDS Candidate 2027
Co-Founder • Dental Educator • Entrepreneur
Rishi Shah completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery and later pursued the North American dental education and licensing pathway.
He is currently completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery training at the University of Alberta.
Having personally experienced many of the challenges faced by internationally trained dentists, he developed a strong interest in simplifying dental education and helping learners navigate complex academic and professional pathways.
His work with The Tooth Factory includes dental education, lecture development, private coaching, international dentist guidance, business development, and dental innovation.
